Clean your face song for kids — "Schmutz!" cover art by Snuggle Bunch

Schmutz!

About This Song

There’s always something on their face. You don’t know what it is, or how it got there, but it needs to come off before we meet the grandparents! “Schmutz!” is a love letter to that universal parent move — the lick-the-thumb wipe, the sleeve grab, the “hold still for one second” that never actually takes one second. Sometimes it’s crusty, sometimes it’s soft, and it’s always the most embarrassing moment.

This playful kids’ hip hop track turns the everyday schmutz situation into a catchy sing-along for toddlers and preschoolers. With its funny rhymes and back-and-forth dialog, it makes face-wiping feel less like a battle and more like a groove. Because a schmutz-less face? That’s how ya gotta be.

Uh oh, come here
You got a little schmutz
Just a little schmutz on your face
Don’t fuss I’ll be quick
Ok ok how about I tell ya in a song?

Wipe it off!

Schmutz is a mess you can wipe right off
With a cloth or your hand
Or the top of your sock
Or the edge of your sleeve
Just don’t let em see
A schmutz-less face
That’s how ya gotta be

So wipe off the schmutz!
Wipe off the schmutz
After a wipe it’ll all be kaputz
Schmutz is a mess we can take care of quick
Get too much schmutz, you’ll probably get sick

Schmutz is a mess you can wipe right off
Sometimes it’s crusty, sometimes it’s soft
No sense to stress with schmutz on your face
You can pick that stuff up all over the place!

Now wiping off schmutz is a messy business
Gimme a minute, we’ll be finished
Can’t let gramma or grampy or any of your friends
See ya lookin like that without a good cleanse

So wipe off the schmutz!
Wipe off the schmutz
After a wipe it’ll all be kaputz
Schmutz is a mess we can take care of quick
Get off all of that schmutz, you’ll be looking quite slick

Now ya see?
Schmutz is not a big deal

So I can go play?

Just a minute lemme get this last bit of schmutz

  • Mac and Cheese!

“Mac and Cheese!” is an ode to the one meal that never gets turned down! After time and time again trying to make something nice for my kids for dinner, we’ve come to realize if there’s mac and cheese, it’s gonna be a winner.

  • Broccoli Lovers!

When my one-year-old discovered broccoli and decides it’s the greatest thing on the planet, I wrote a song about it! “Broccoli Lovers!” was born out of watching our littlest Snuggle Bunch fan devour every piece of broccoli in sight, while his skeptical three-year-old brother looked on, unconvinced. This fun family hip hop track is a love letter to the kids who can’t get enough of the green stuff, and a gentle nudge for the ones still making up their minds.

  • Big ol’ Truck!

There’s no explaining it — your kid sees a truck and the whole world stops. Doesn’t matter if it’s a dump truck, a fire engine, or just a normal pickup. “Big ol’ Truck!” captures that pure, unfiltered hype that only a kid standing on the sidewalk pointing at heavy machinery can produce. Oh wow oh man! Inspired by a real quote from my son when he was 2.

  • Peanut Butter Sandwich!

Mom made something amazing for dinner. Dad put together a beautiful plate. And yet, the kid wants a peanut butter sandwich. Every family has that one meal their kid will always choose over whatever you actually cooked, and “Peanut Butter Sandwich!” turns that standoff into a groove. No negotiations, no bribes, just pure loyalty to their favorite food no matter what else is on offer.

  • Time to Take a Nap (Foxy’s Version)

One of our first songs was a lullaby featuring folk singer Mama Goose. After recording, we decided to let Foxy have a shot at recording this a laid-back, melodic spin on one of our first tracks. It hits different when you need something a little softer to wind things down. Featuring an extended outro thats designed to give parents the time to pause the music and sneak out of the room.

  • Little Bird!

There’s something special about watching a little bird hop around in a tree. Happy, wild, free, doing a little wiggle and fluffing its feathers. It just clicks with kids! “Little Bird!” captures that wide-eyed wonder. We wrote this one outside of daycare right after dropoff, it has a special place in our hearts!
